Philosophy Statement: It is my philosophy that all students should have an academic and authentic learning opportunity that both ignites their passion for learning and also enhances their abilities and motivates them to contribute as citizens in their communities —from the school community to the neighborhood, city, state, national, and global communities. I challenge the students to be active citizens. Students will leave my class with the desire to be involved in their community. Through civic projects and project citizen, students are creating a sense of community and duty. Students will also participate in Mock Trials, Mock Congress, Presidential Cabinet Role Play to enhance their understanding of the system they are a part of in the United States. Students will conclude each trimester with a portfolio of their work.
